Alter-ego Action

July 20th, 2007

Set your silence to stun,
slow me down to a faltering run,
because I'm sprinting away from nothing again:
a room full of ghosts and dead ends.

My hand reached out through a pitch black door
where snakes and scorpians cover the floor.
The snakes slid up my legs and wrapped fashionably around my calves
while the spiders snuck into my heart, and crudely sewed up the two halves.
A man took my hand, with a sly grin;
he twirled me around, and my head started to spin.
The sound of our heels digging into the ground
covered with beasties that scream and shout
and I giggled and laughed and held his hand tighter and tighter
while the light in the room was brighten by the moon, slowly getting whiter and whiter.
Hissing howling from black cats and wolves
overtook our ears in that waltzing room.
Skeletons and ghosts caress the curtains free
making them sway with uncertainty,
blood and sweat drip from the ceiling,
like a twisted version of rain's feeling.
This man now pulls me close and looks in my eyes
with the pitch black sockets, I stare back in time.
And the smile on my face has gone a little deranged:
everything has changed.

I no longer like flowers and weather that's fair
the sky can run red for all I care.
Bunnies and puppies and unicorns alike
make me sick to my stomach at first sight.
Rainbows and clouds make my eyes cross,
well this finding myself just got me lost.

So maybe everything is ruined for me,
the wonders in life turned into distractions;
sometimes I wish I could stop analyzing.
And start some action.
